Golden Monkey is a stylish and charming Chinese restaurant. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. The tenderloin, prepared with the chef’s special signature sauce, was excellent. Even though it was listed as a small plate, it was surprisingly filling. I also tried the dumplings on the side, and they were very tasty as well. The service was fast, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Die haben jeden Tag frische Ente. Das essen ist sehr gut. Die Prtionen gibt es in klein und gross. Die Suppen sind alle super. Es ist etwas teurer aber qualitativ hochwertig. Man macht keinen Fehler es zu versuchen.

I have wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time. I am a big fan of Chinese cuisine, but I was hesitant to step inside because I was afraid of being disappointed. There is a bit of a backstory: one evening, I was craving it so much that I stopped at four or five other Asian restaurants—Korean, Japanese, and Indonesian—along the way. Everywhere I went, when I opened the menu, they either didn't have the rice prepared the way I wanted, or they were missing rolls or dim sum. Finally, I stumbled upon this restaurant and thought, "Alright, the moment to visit has come." I received a very warm welcome. The restaurant was crowded, which perfectly matched the authentic Chinese atmosphere. There were families, children, and couples everywhere. It was quite noisy and bright, so I perhaps missed a little bit of quiet and privacy, but that didn't ruin the overall impression. The service was fast despite how busy they were. The portions are very generous, there is a wonderful selection of dim sum, and the rice is amazingly prepared—specifically in the true Chinese style. At one point, all the noise blended into a single hum, and I truly felt as if I were somewhere in China. Both the music and the interior contributed to this feeling. Overall, I loved visiting this place, and now I will be coming here whenever I want to be transported to the streets of China. Thank you very much! ♥️♠️♦️♣️

Best wonton soup and veggie spring rolls we've ever had. Lovely service and beautiful decoration. Highly recommended!

The Stir Fried Beef with Ginger and Spring Onion here is so tender you barely need a knife. We also tried the San Choy Bow (Stir Fried Roasted Meat with Lettuce) as a starter which was light and refreshing. The atmosphere in the Ubud branch is upscale but still feels relaxed and tropical.

Sometimes you just want the classics done right. Their Sweet and Sour Pork is the best I’ve had in a long time—no soggy batter here! We also had the Fried Rice Special which was loaded with shrimp and veggies. It’s consistent, high-quality Chinese food that never fails to satisfy

If you love bold flavors, you have to get the Kung Pao Chicken here! It has that perfect balance of vinegar, soy, and heat. We also loaded up on the Xiao Long Bao, which were steamed to perfection with plenty of soup inside. The service is quick and the vibe is great for a rainy Ubud evening when you want something warm and comfortin

Everything was fresh and cooked to order. We started with vegetable spring rolls, which were perfectly crispy, but the honey glazed pork ribs were the real star of the show, the meat literally fell off the bone and the sauce was incredible, if you like rich sticky flavors, you have to order those ribs!

Dropped in here after walking around the Monkey Forest and it was exactly what I needed. Super chilled vibes and the staff are so welcoming. Had the Deep Fried Gurami with Soya Sauce and it was massive and perfectly cooked. Everything tasted so fresh and high-quality. Definitely a solid spot if you're craving proper Chinese food in Ubud.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as a vegetarian,but the Braised Eggplant and Tofu with spicy Szechuan sauce was incredible — so savory and “meaty”in texture.We also loved the salt and pepper Tofu and The Stir Fried Beans with Minced Pork.Even without meat,the dishes are packed with flavor.A solid choice for groups with mixed diets on jalan goatama.

Had a wonderful dinner at Golden Monkey. Make sure you leave room for the Golden Custard Buns for dessert—the filling is warm and runny, just like it should be. We also tried the Hot and Sour Seafood Soup which was very comforting and had a nice spicy kick. Excellent food and the staff really makes you feel welcome.

Finally tried the Roasted Chicken at Golden Monkey Ubud and its was outstanding.. The meat was so juicy and the skin had that perfect golden finish.. We paired it with The Wok Fried Brocoli with garlic which was super fresh.. Its great spot for a proper feast in the heart of Ubud.. Highly recommend if you want something hearty that isn't the usual BBQ Pork..

The Steamed Cod with Superior Soya Sauce is a masterclass in simplicity and fresh ingredients. The fish was flaky and delicate, allowing the high-quality soy sauce and fresh ginger julienne to shine. It’s a clean, healthy dish that feels very sophisticated

The tenderloin beef, with signature oriental sauce was incredibly soft and practically melted in my mouth. The sauce was glossy and rich, coating the beef and the crisp vegetables in a savory embrace. It's a premium dish that clearly uses high-grade cut of meat.

Had dinner at Golden Monkey Restaurant and the food was quite good. The server Melati was great and made sure everything was perfect. Really appreciated the friendly service

For those who like seafood with a kick, the kung pao prawns offer a great mix of spice and texture. The prawns were large and snappy, tossed with dried chilies and crunchy cashew nuts for a classic szechuan finish. It has a lovely balance of acidity and heat the enlivens the plate .

The Fenkow Dumplings are a fantastic vegetarian option filled with a crunchy and flavorful mix of broccoli, carrot, and peanuts. The translucent wrapper was steamed perfectly, holding everything together without being too sticky. It’s rare to find such high-quality veggie dim sum in the center of Ubud.

We ordered the BBQ Combination Platter, which is a great way to try the roast duck, char siew, and crispy pork all at once. Each meat was succulent and seasoned with traditional spices that reminded me of top-tier eateries in Hong Kong. It’s a generous portion that is ideal for sharing between two or three people

The Chicken Feet in Spicy Bean Sauce are cooked until they are fall-off-the-bone tender and gelatinous. The sauce has a deep, fermented umami flavor with just a hint of heat that keeps you coming back for more. This is an authentic touch that dim sum enthusiasts will truly appreciate.

The Crispy Pork Belly here is an absolute standout with its perfectly crackling skin and juicy layers of meat. It’s served with a side of hoisin sauce that balances the saltiness perfectly. I’ve tried many spots in Ubud, but this remains my top choice for authentic Chinese BBQ

I highly recommend the Fried Wontons if you’re looking for a satisfyingly crunchy appetizer to start your meal. They are filled with a generous amount of pork and prawn and served with a tangy sweet and sour dipping sauce. They arrived at our table golden-brown

Extraordinary, genuine Chinese food. Not sweet and sticky. Perfectly, delivered to our door, in Ubud....two nights in a row! It is that delicious! Cannot show photos, as we ate it!

The food here is it. Absolutely unreal eh. Had the famous dim sum I've heard so much about, and yes it's as good as advertised. The Peking Duck was roasted to perfection, and I couldn't get enough of those bloody marys. Had to keep em coming. Anyways, yes I recommend and the only place I'll be stopping at before coming back here is the Sanur location to have the hot pot I keep getting stuck in traffic on my way down south for because everyone is going to Golden Monkey Sanur for it.

I always loved the beans and the San Choy Bao here, full of flavour, spicy and consistently good. It’s one of those reliable spots you can return to. The location is super convenient too, right in Ubud, perfect for walking around the lovely little shops before or after your meal. Easy, central, and always a good stop.

I SERIOUSLY do not understand the bad reviews! I went with my friends here (she is originally Chinese) several times and the food we had was phenomenal. The staff was very friendly and the location was super central. I keep coming back when I’m craving Chinese food. So guys give it a try, I also traveled through China several times and the food here is great! Worth a try ❤️🙆🏻‍♀️

발리음식 별로 입맛에 안맞았는데 사막의 오아시스처럼 발견한 맛집 인정! 양도 많고 특히 계란볶음밥과 돼지고기에그누들 강추. 전체적으로 짠 편이긴 한데 발리음식에 질릴때쯤 가면 다들 만족할겁니다.

A good place to look for chinese food in Bali. Eventhough the place is not to big but the food was good, especially the crispy pork belly.

I decided to go to this restaurant despite some negative reviews to form my own opinion with my Chinese girlfriend, and we were right to do so. The service, the kindness of the waitresses, and the food were all truly excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant, which deserves a much better overall rating.

My wife wanted Chinese tonight so after reading all the reviews we decided to try Golden monkey and we were not disappointed. We ordered the hot and sour soup, chicken Kung Pao and the special beef dish along with the broccoli with garlic, and pork fried rice. All of it was very very good and even my Vietnamese wife liked it all haha 😂. Service was spot on and it was a little expensive but understandable for the location and quality of food. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for some Chinese while you're in Ubud!

Really impressed. Peking duck, honey pork ribs and desserts all delicious. We thought value for money. Agree with other reviewer on it being an oasis of calm in hectic Ubud. Very welcoming ambiance and vibe.

Food slapped!! I read the negative reviews before coming and I do not understand them!!! It is a traditional nice Chinese restaurant so you’re supposed to share the dishes with more than one person??? Also it did not take a long time for the food to arrive at all. Would recommend xxxxx

Нам очень понравилось. Утка очень вкусная. Пельмени с бульоном тоже хороши. Принесли все быстро. Но мне кажется что тут чуток дороговато. А ещё к ценнику нужно прибавлять не 15-16 процентов как у всех, а целых 20.

What a calm oasis away from Ubud’s busy streets. They offer a lovely selection of Chinese favourites including dim sum. I really enjoyed the dim sum platter. It was perfect for a solo traveller. Fresh mango juice was a delicious treat.
